Cheapest way to add service days to BYOP tracfone

I have a Motorola BYOP smartphone that i need to add service days to.

Tracfone Discontinued $50 One Year Service Days Add On

I do not need minutes or texts, I have thousands. In the past I added the 365 service day add on for 49.99. After researching and speaking to Tracfone CS this weekend I find that they have eliminated the options for a BYOP phone. I see that the only option to purchase 365 service days is $125.00 with may be a small discount.

    TracFone prices

Does anyone know of a cheaper option or work around to get service days without all of the minutes, or the cheapest way to just to add service days with minutes. I am very frustrated with tracfone and I think I might have to switch phone plans.

There's a cheaper way, but you need to act quick since we don't know when the promotion will end.

    Prepaid Wireless Advice & Savings

Go to TF web site and buy a phone (the cheapest one is a refurbished Rebel 3 for $9.99) plus a time card ($125 for 1-year and 1500/1500/1500), then apply code SPECIAL40 at check out, it will take 40% OFF the total price. The discounted total is $80.99 plus tax + shipping (should be FREE at the moment).

    Best service days option tracfone

When the order comes, apply the card to your current phone. Give the cheap phone away or keep it for a backup.

I just made a test order and the SPECIAL40 code is still valid at 9AM Central 3/4/19.

Per hpham`s suggestion: Since the airtime comes as a separate card with a scratch off pin, you can use one of several type promo codes if you desire.

Add 1 Year of Service to Your Tracfone Account

NOTE: If the codes are not for at the time of purchase of airtime only. You can at least try them when adding the card to your phone.

Also, eBates is currently paying 11% cashback on the entire purchase.

Couldn't you just buy the cheapest tracfone for about $14 with a plan using that code (I forget the cost), then transfer your byop account to it, which will make your account a Tracfone branded account, then add the $49 card and whatever other add-ons you need, then transfer back to BYOP?

I suppose it is work and one must use proper online chat procedures in case something goes wrong, but it would be cheaper.

I think. You would get the $49.99, a free $15 plan card, you could grab data at $5.33 a GB if you have the promo code...

Did the Tracfone CS really admit to this?

After researching and speaking to Tracfone CS this weekend I find that they have eliminated the options for a BYOP phone.

I was told that too by a corporate office manager..

but I've learned not to trust anything I hear from them lol.
Something about it was being misused. The accent was heavy, hard to understand.

If the SIM is the correct size you can SIM swap back to your BYOP and Tracfone will always see it as Tracfone branded.

    Best service days option tracfone

You must hold onto the actual "cheap" Tracfone and guard it`s IMEI from ever being used.

Edit: just to be safe add the 365 days before SIM swapping.

But Tracfone will never know the SIM has been swapped from the Tracfone it came in.

So one would just need to transfer once to the Tracfone branded phone and then swap back. So that's even easier. You can get a reconditioned TF phone for $14.99 with plan. Then transfer smartly and grab the add-ons.

Swap back to BYOP, put TF phone in the closet and don't lose it or give away. Or you could transfer back too I guess.

    So it would be like $49 + $15 = 13 months of service + 200 minutes, 500 texts and 500MB for $64.

    TracFone options: smart vs. basic

I think with promo code you can get an extra 100 minutes on the $15 card. Grab another year (2 years total) for $113 (plus tax). Data is cheap too, if the promo code is still around/working. $8 per GB and with promo code it's $8 for 1.5GB.

    Best service days option tracfone

Best to do data one GB at a time to ensure promo code works.

I just looked in my check out and there is a new data offering, which is not so great:

I wonder if it is tailored to me cause I bought a few of them at 1.5 GB for $8.

You could still get the 1GB data add-on for $10 and if promo is active it will give you an extra 500 MB.
Looks like promo code 14223 works.

Thanks for all the wonderful suggestions.

My service days end in two days, so I do not have time to purchase a new phone. I was told by two agents that they eliminated the 49.99 option for BYOP phones.

I find it unfortunate that they have an offer for one type of customers and not another, and that they do not offer any plans to purchase service days only .

If my service days were running out soon, I would add $20 60-minute card, then wait and see for 90 days. It's bad deal for minutes/texts/data, but I have enough of those.

Also, while the promo for 1GB bonus on $15 smartphone card is working, that's the better way to add data because I'd get another 30 days b

That is if the user can access the basic plans to be able to purchase the $20 90 day plan.

Cnbc is investing in bitcoin worth

Tracfone (i think) still has the auto refill 30 day plan for about $5.99 a month.
You have to call them to enroll though.

Well, a $9.99 plan will extend it out for 30 days while the OP decides on what to do.
