Best Fender Amps

Fender’s amps go all the way from starting to massive stadium amps, of course, not everybody has de means to buy whatever they want, but for sure there’s got to be an option that you may need.

We will review a few of the amps for beginners, perfect for in-house playing or maybe playing with your friends, use them for practice.

Once you got better, then you can always upgrade.

We are giving you amp options that most do not need to rely on any other effect devices such as pedals or pedal boards.

Please review them and afterword’s you will find our buyer’s guide that will help you buy the correct one.

1. Fender Champion 40 – 40-Watt Electric Guitar Amplifier

This is a price accessible line from Fender. The Champion Series is a very versatile and easy to use an amplifier.

Your Turn to Sound Off!

It features a “Digital Amplifier Modeling” from different classic Fender amps. So, you can adapt your sound to the type of music you are playing. Ideal for rock, blues, metal country and Jazz. This amp series comes very in handy as a first-time buyer option, meaning if you have just started playing your electric guitar and you are still on a budget this amp will give you a wide variety of sounds for an affordable price.

But we must be honest with you, if you are planning on rocking the local pubs or even more, this Fender amp will not just make the cut.

It is the best option for your in-home playing and guitar training. Also, it comes with a phones jack which allows you to keep on playing without the need to disturb the rest of the family.

Best option for fender rumble

Also have in mind that even though when you buy this amp you will be thrill with all the options and knobs on the control panel, you will not be able to change quickly from one setting to another since you do not have any preset option available.

This means that in the end what will most likely happen to you is that you will have a lot of toys to go around, but you will end up playing with only one (your favorite) or maybe two choices.

My advice will be, take your time, figure out two sounds, a clean one and an overdrive one and the rest try to do it with your instrument, do not rely 100 % on the amp features.

  • Accessible price
  • Reverb, delay/echo, chorus, tremolo, Vibratone and other effects
  • Different amp voicings and distortion types
  • Only 1 serious channel (Clean), if you want a professional overdrive or distortion you must get a pedal.
  • Even though you have a 100-watt version it will not be good enough for performances, it will be unreliable.

Fender Frontman 10G Electric Guitar Amplifier

This amplifier is the classic looks small does big amp that you will find on the Fender economy line. Another great idea for a first amp, so if you are just started playing guitar, and you want to try your first solos this is a nice solution. Some musicians have the idea that if the amp (Or any other instrument) does not have hundreds of knobs then basically there isn’t much to play around with.

I do not agree.!

Having just a clean and overdrive channel plus some Equalizing features like treble and bass is good enough to go from a smoothie blues to a hard metal.

Fender Rumble Core features and Specs

One interesting fact is that the overdrive in this amp is actually simulated from a Fender tube amp, so even though it is emulated – Definitely a con, the overdrive will sound a little bit “flaky”, it is still a fake sound from a tube amp, a classic sound by Fender amps and that it will take you back to those recordings in the mid ’70s.

You can go to overdrive with the press of a button making it very simple, plus you have two extra inputs, one for aux in and another one for headphones, this last one will allow you to keep on playing for hours even after midnight without the need to keep your family up.

Lastly, it is a very light amp with the classic cool Fender look alike that will give your room that extra touch of rock and roll, like I said a nice choice for beginners amp.

What you just read it is very consistent with the reviews you can find in online stores and forum, everybody is amazed on what they got versus what they expected; everybody says “Don’t let the small size fools you” and it is true, Fender for sure knows how to do amps.

Lastly, if eventually you want to improve to a better amp series and you do not want to keep it, it is a model that is extremely easy to sell online, just put it at a decent price, and you will sell it in less than a day.

  • Small and light
  • Excellent value for resale
  • Decent distortion, and excellent clean tone
  • Do not expect stadium sound in your garage
  • No extra effects (Delay, Reverb, etc.) just a simulated tube-amp style distortion
  • times-circleEven though you have two extra inputs for aux in and headphone I wouldn’t rely on them, if you have a recording plus the guitar it’s going to sound saturated.

Fender Rumble 100 v3 Bass Combo Amplifier

For all bass players, out there here is a fine and yet affordable solution for your bass lines. The Fender Rumble 100 bass combo has it all with only one amp.

A 12” Eminence speaker, it has 100 W of power, and it is extremely lightweight (Only 22 pounds), a wide variety of tones, to begin you can start pressing buttons and get either the bright, contour or vintage sound pumped up.

Plus, it comes with an extra overdrive circuit that you can turn on from the amp or with a footswitch (Sold separately). One of the things I like from its design is where the knobs are, you will find the almost hidden at the top of the amp, this means that you can make your preferences your little secret and nobody in the audience will now.

This amp cover from in-house playing (Great option) all the way to small gigs at local pubs.

It has a lot of power, and you can push it through, turn on the knobs, the amp will deliver, it’s not my promise, but Fender’s promise.

It comes with a 4-button equalization panel so you can get infinite sounds out of them plus a very convenient master level in case you are performing live and you see you have to control the output level in the blink of an eye.

In the back of the amp you will find besides the on/off button a send/return effect input that will allow you to place the amp wherever you want in the signal chain, it is very weird for an amp for beginners to have this kind of feature, it usually starts in the pro series.

  • Well manufacture and light weight
  • Send/Return input jacks on the back
  • Great sound, distortion and 4 band EQ
  • Unless you want to play in a big stadium, no cons

Fender Mustang II v2 40-Watt

I’m going to start in the wrong place here, the thing I like the most about this amp is….

Are all cryptocurrencies on the same blockchain

It has a design consisting of the early ’60, and to me, that is something not only to mention but to shout about it.The Mustang II is a 40 W amplifier by Fender that also includes a 12” Fender Special Design speaker, this is going to give you a lot of power especially for those big fat power chords you want to rock throughout the weekend. This is a “techy amplifier,” opposite to the ones we have been showing you; this is mostly a digital amplifier.

And as one, it has a lot of cool features and pros, but as you know “there is no such thing as a free ride.”Being a digital amp, it has an onboard effects machine to give color and tone to your sound.

Best option for fender rumble

In the options, you will find a Reverb, Delay, Chorus, Tremolo and then some other effects. Plus, the amp comes with a digital amplifier modeling function in which you can go through all the sounds of Fenders most classic amplifiers. However, as I mention, this is also a con, have in mind that digital sounds are very synthesized sounds, meaning they may not sound as “true-ish” as they should.

I always say, you either choose an amp that is good at one thing (Tops two) or you choose an amp that is mediocre (or maybe upper intermediate) in a wide variety of things.

This is not an easy choice, still, if you ask me, this is a great option.

However, if eventually, you want to change it, it may not be as easy to be sold as some other Fender amps.Opposite to the amps, we have seen, this is the first amp that comes with the preset option.

This means you can save all your sounds into the present and just change from one to the other with one button instead of going crazy with all the knobs.

Plus, it comes with really cool factory presets, you can find a sound you like (Trust me you will), and then you start changing from that one.

One last feature I must mention is the USB connectivity port that comes build in; it allows you to control the amp with a cellphone app, plus upgrade the software and download preset from other players.

  • Hundreds of built in options for you to play along with
  • Good value of money
  • The USB port allows you to download new sounds from other players and upgrade the software
  • Great in-house option amp
  • You can preset your music sounds
  • The Fender vintage looks
  • As any digital sound, it will have a wide range, but it will lack some “true” in the final sound.
  • Difficult to resale
  • Never take it out of the house, it will not do

Fender Acoustasonic 15 – Acoustic Guitar Amplifier

This is tailor made a choice for the acoustic player if you want to play electric guitar with this amp, you are wasting your time and money. The Fender Acoustasonic 15 is an acoustic amp with 15 W of power and a 6″ speaker that will give you a very bright sound for your acoustic guitar.

It has two channels, which is very cool, this means that on the second channel you can plug your guitar and you can plug a microphone into the first channel with an XLR input (Careful here).

And a very cool feature is that it comes with two independent volume knobs, one from each channel so you can very tailor when it comes to the volume and loudness of your voice versus the acoustic guitar.Furthermore, it comes with a 3-band equalizer which is very important, in general, acoustic guitar straight through an amplifier tend to be too sharp, now you can change the bands until you have a more suitable sound.

Plus, it has at the end of the chain a chorus sign so you can add that little extra bright to your performance. One last thing to mention is that it comes with a 1/4 “input jack for headphones that will allow you to plug high-end headphones instead of the small 1/8” jack headphones, like cell phone ones which at the end are very unreliable.

  • Independent channels for voice and guitar with one volume knob for each
  • Small, lightweight yet trustable
  • 3-band equalize plus chorus
  • 1/4 Input for high end headphones
  • Do not use with an electric guitar, it will just not do
  • Maybe not the easiest to sell back if you want to get rid of it

Fender Amps – Buyer’s Guide

Ok, maybe right now you feel more confused than you were before reading the review, you were just thinking of going to your local music shop and buy a Fender amp (Because it must be Fender, right?).

Now we gave you all these options in the same price range, and you need a guide to know what to buy.

Don’t panic here it is.

Let’s go from more to less obvious. If you are a bass player, you only have one choice, the Fender Rumble.

China forex expo 2020 awards

Great choice, you will be able to play almost any kind of music with this amp.

Now, when it comes to guitar, we gave you some more options.

First, have in mind that the options we gave you are for in-house playing, if you are planning to go to your local pub and try to rock there, the outcome may not be the desired one.

Since the price options we gave you are very similar, it is just a matter of which one.

And here is where you should answer this question.

Which kind of music do I want to play?

If you are going to be playing mostly the same kind of tone or music, maybe just to settings a clean one and an overdrive then any of the first two options will be enough for you.

Something similar if you are only planning on using the amp for practice, if you are going to do scales all day then I will also stay with one of the first two options.

You may have to give up a lot of sounds and led lights since at the end you are always going to stay in one.

But have in mind that you never know if in the future you may want to expand that sound to something different, then you may have bought the wrong amp.

On the other hand, if you are looking not only to learn and practice but to create different sounds, then you may have to go to a digital Fender amp, full of different toys.

Like I said, if an amp has a built-in chorus, reverb, tremolo, overdrive, amp modeling, etc., and it costs less than 300 dollars, you cannot expect it to sound like the albums you listen to the radio.

Have in mind that an individual pedal (Yes, you will need a pedal for each effect) may cost up to 500 dollars.

Best option for fender rumble

So, you are getting more than four different pedals for half the price on only one.

If this is the case, then the FENDER MUSTANG II V2 40 is your choice.

You will be able to get the sound you want, plus with the USB connectivity port, you will be able to keep the software to the latest version, save your presets, manage the amp from your app and download sounds from other musicians.

Pretty cool, eh?

The only problem may come when you want to sell that amp; it may be the hardest for resale of all the ones we have mention.

We provided you with a nice list of Fender amps options, and for sure they are all suitable for someone.

Now, depending on you, this is what I recommend:

  • If you are a bass player, the FENDER RUMBLE 100 V3 BASS COMBO is the best option, not only because it was the only bass option but also because you will be able to rock from your garage all the way up to your local pub.

    Best option for fender rumble
