In a recent study, Crypto Fund Research decided to sift through thousands of platforms to determine which ten met the criteria for being influential and important.
Their criteria dealt with the value of blockchain investments, how many investments there were, the length of the investor’s experience, and other investment activity within the last year.

#1 – Digital Currency Group
The Digital Currency Group seems to be the easiest choice for the top spot in that list.
They are in New York, and they seem to have the highest among of the number and value of investments, along with more investors. They actually have more investments on the blockchain than all of the other 9 investment funds combined.
They have a total of 58 investments, valued at $78 million.

#2 – Pantera Capital
Pantera is based out of Menlo Park in California and is considered a hybrid hedge/venture fund.
They work to invest in tokens, cryptocurrencies, and blockchain companies.
They have had 31 investments in the blockchain efforts, which are valued at $65 million. Their biggest investments have been with Basis, Circle, Harbor, and DMarket.
They have made 13 investments in blockchain efforts in the last year.

#3 – Blockchain Capital
Blockchain Capital was fairly close to Pantera Capital, and they purely invest in blockchain.

They were a little late to the game, making an investment in 2013 with BTCC. However, they have managed to make more investments than anyone on this list or not on it, with the exception of Digital Currency Group, at 37 investments.
The top investments they have made were with Circle, Coinbase, Blockstream, and Ripple.

#4 – Andreessen Horowitz
Andreessen Horowitz is also known as a16z and is known as one of the biggest venture capital firms worldwide, and they are one of the few firms on this list that are not exclusive to blockchain and digital asset investments.
They have managed to invest in some big players in the crypto world, like Coinbase and DFINITY.
They have a total of 14 blockchain company investments, totaling $55 million of their profits.

#5 – Node Capital
Node Capital separates itself from the rest of the list because, though it invests in blockchain as well, it primarily works to invest in ICOs for companies that want to break into the crypto world. They are located in Beijing and has become one of the most active blockchain investors, with 22 investments valuing $20 million.
This company has worked with investments in Huobi, Fengwo, and the Delphy Foundation.

#6 – Boost VC
Boost VC is in San Mateo, California, and they work on supporting artificial intelligence, blockchain, and cryptocurrency efforts. They have made a total of 32 investments in blockchain, which add up to $67 million venture investments in blockchain. Some of the top investments include BlockCypher and Coinbase.
This company is not exclusive to blockchain and digital assets, which is probably part of its success.

#7 – IDG Capital
IDG Capital is in New York, and they are a private equity and venture capital fund. It takes the time to work with multiple types of companies, rather than just blockchain and crypto.
